Oh my, its been a long time since I've posted. Some of you inquired how I'm doing, and I thank you for your concern. I'm fine.
We did arrive home mid April, just before Easter. We blew in with a snow fall of ten inches. Perhaps that's what put me in a funk, perhaps I hit the wall and couldn't think of anything to write about. Or maybe I just needed a break from blogging for a bit.
So much has happened in the last two months, let me catch you up. When I got home, I house cleaned and reorganized my cupboards and closets. Boring, but needed to be done.
We endured a couple more snow falls, and eventually it all melted.
We purchased a new vehicle, I now drive a Buick Enclave. We traded the truck, for something that would get a little better gas mileage. I think it will serve our needs perfectly, plenty of room to get our stuff to Arizona, and a comfortable ride. We also kept the 'chevy' for just running around.
The grands are growing and are anticipating their week's stay for 'Granny Daze'. I have decided that having all five at one time is too much. So they are taking turns.
Grand #2 (our only grandson) can come for a week and bring a friend.
Grand#1 will drive over after the fair, where she shows her horse.
Can you believe it -- she drives. She is also bringing a friend.
Grand #4 will spend her week with her cousin Grand #3, as will Grand #5.
So if you do the math, Grand# 3 gets two weeks.
We haven't been fishing much, it is a slow start to getting in some good fishing. Our pontoon is in the water though, so that's a step in the right direction!!
The yard work is at a standstill, we were going to do some reseeding of lawn and establish a few flowerbeds around the house, and take down a few scrub trees. Our septic is acting up (more about that in a later post) so we have to get those issues taken care of first.
Our ATV club has started up for the season, and I'm involved with that!! The treasurer has resigned; so I'm doing that job in addition to the secretary job.
We've gone on a few rides already. Saturday's ride was a bit muddy.
I decided not to be a girly girl, and get muddy!!!
I've been doing some sewing for the granddaughters. I inherited some material that was designed to sell as pillow cases by the yard. I am in the process of turning the material into summer dresses, with just one more to go.
One of my goals was to paint our four-season's room furniture a cranberry red, to match the fireplace. That was completed!! The color in the photo is deceiving.
The next goal is to paint the trim on the garage, not as much fun!!!
So, it has been a busy spring. And it looks like summer will be the same. Thank you for your patience.
And that's the way it is..............................
GREAT to see a post from you! and glad that spring/summer finally arrived for you! LOVE those muddy feet :)

ReplyDeleteGood to know your absence was productive and fun and not just quitting this game. Had to laugh at your toes, at least the toenails were girly.
ReplyDeleteCranberry red is a favorite color. Good job.
Got tickled at clever Grand #3. Really smart doing them in small doses. Have loads of fun with them.
Love your summer dress and the red furniture. Glad to see you're blogging again. Taking a break is good when you need it but I missed you on here.

ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you were! I should have known -- busy as ever! The time with the grands sounds great -- a wise choice to split them up, but longer in the end for you. Glad to see you back!
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about you and what could be keeping you away from the blog. I always assume that life is more interesting and keeping people busy when they take a break. I guess I am an optimist.
ReplyDeleteNice that you are back posting. You've had a busy spring and the summer sounds just as busy. But that keeps life interesting. : )
ReplyDeleteSo good to catch up with you! It has indeed been a busy time for you, and I can't imagine 10 inches of snow in April!! I would have turned around and headed for sunshine! Love the photos and the lake looks so inviting. A little slice of Heaven, and a wonderful place to make memories with all the grands. Please keep us posted and show us more photos!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are back! I thought you might have found a better place to stay on your way north!
ReplyDeleteI love your red furniture. My grandma reprinted her porch furniture a new color every spring!
