Last August, I had my initial visit with the surgeon who was going to fix my knee.
At that time, he told me I would need to get a shower chair, crutches, and a walker; to have ready for my recovery process.
One of my friends supplied me with the shower chair, and another had crutches.
All I needed to find was a walker.
When I was in Appleton for that particular doctor visit, I stopped at Aldi's, as we were going to have a fish fry on the weekend, and Aldi's has the most reasonable frying oil.
While I was at Aldi's I noticed the weekly special was medical equipment, walkers included.
I wasn't sure if the walkers they had for sale would work out, so I picked up my friend Barb, who has had both her knees replaced.
She looked at the walker and gave her seal of approval, and I bought one.
It was a good deal, ringing in at $29.00.
And I love the color.
I needed a little pizzazz after surgery.
Yesterday, while I was resting in my room, one of the PT's had a patient walking around 'the block'. They stopped at my door, and I could hear him say.
Here's the room of the lady that has that pretty blue walker that you were asking about.
Nothing like being the envy of the geriatric set!!!
And that's the way it is...............
it really is a nice looking one and i have never seen one that cheap... and i like the color...
ReplyDeleteWishing you a speedy recovery! I stop at Aldis every week...great place to shop with no frills. I am hooked on Clancys chocolate covered pretzels right now and only 1.69 a bag.
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday!

I did not even know that they made walkers in colors...or that you get them anywhere but a medical supply store. Well, maybe that is if you get one by prescription and expect Medicare reimbursement. The blue is zippy. That has got to help and you are already out and about. Good signs all around.
ReplyDeleteMike was prescribed a walker after heart surgery because of his swollen and painful ankles and knee. I paid $150 for it and he never used it, but the store would not take it back. According to some medical rules, once it is out the door, it is contaminated and considered a health hazard. Good grief. And then there were the prescription drugs--some never even opened. The only thing that can be done with those is take them to a collection center that will send them to a place in Texas for incineration. What a waste.
I had no idea Aldi had such things for sale. Great price and lovely color and it's always good to have the prettiest equipment!
ReplyDeletethats so sweet, you are a celebrity! Keep healing, have a wonderful weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThat is really a nice looking walker. Those look like racing stripes on the front. Some smart person thought outside the box. No reason why walkers can't look cool.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work.
Nice transportation--hope you are doing well and up scooting around with that walker some!
ReplyDeleteHa! Isn't it amazing what one can find at Aldi's! I'm so glad you call it 'Aldi's.' I do too!! My daughters both call it Aldi. LOL
