When I was eight or nine, my dad was hired to build a house in Florida for my Godfather.
Dad left early fall, with the plan being; mom would take my brother and me at Christmas time.
We traveled by train..(that's another blog)
As we neared our destination I noticed the Palm trees; and in my excited loud little girl voice I wanted to make sure my mother saw them too.
So I announced, "Mom, look at the Pineapple trees!" Everyone on the train was laughing at me.
How was I to know what they were!
I was just a little bumpkin from Wisconsin!!!
Today I went out to photograph the palm trees. They are so different from any type of tree in Wisconsin.
I hope you enjoy the photos!!
And that's the way it is..................
truly not what we grew up with. :)
ReplyDeleteI remember being laughed at for something I thought made perfect sense. I felt stung/mortified.
ReplyDeleteThey are truly original. I think they are so pretty, and staying green all the time is so neat.
ReplyDeleteThis reminded me of my post today "retarded" grandparents. Children, like you say the cutest things!
Beautiful. There is something wonderful about the variety of plants. Maybe it should tell us something about the variety of people and how, perhaps, things were meant to be.
ReplyDeleteThanks for these awesome pics. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking an extended break from posting on my blog, but I'll still be checking in with you.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

They remind me of Florida...come to think of it...they really do look like a pineapple tree! Lol. Thanks always for your nice comments. I guess being diabetic doesn't help whenever I get sick...getting this flu was all I needed to put me down and into bed! Hope you are enjoying your time away from home. Have fun and keep safe!
ReplyDeleteWarm Regards,
Loretta
Very cool images.....it looks so warm and sunny there!
ReplyDeleteLovely images. It pays to stop and look closely at all of the beautiful things in our world!
ReplyDeletefrom first blossom to full fan, beautiful. Thank you for showing this wonderful tree, your Pineapple Palm tree. And you are so right, there is no tree in WI so showstopping except our Maples in the fall. Have a wonderful time there for it is getting nasty with heavy wet snow here at home. Please show us more tropicals...just to spoil us.

Those are great photos, and how nice to see something that isn't coated in white....
ReplyDeleteI know quit complaining...I'm not, it's just so good to see green.
