Chateau Debris

Believe it or not, we are making progress!

Our biggest problem with our downsized house is where to put stuff while working on a particular room.
Our accomplishments so far are:
all the trim is up in all three bed rooms.

(Before)

(After)

The back bedroom has been painted and ready for carpeting.
The master bath is being worked on right now.

The master bedroom is waiting to be painted.

The middle bedroom  and  living room are being used as storage for now.

And the plumber is coming tomorrow to install the walk in shower in the 'big' bathroom.

If pictures say a million words....... we are living in chaos!!!

And that's the way it is............

  1. Hi Muffy,
I admire the heck out of your ambition! Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you for some time to come. Reminds me of when my husband and I extended the cabin on our boat years ago with the ambition of having it completed by the time our daughter was born. THAT didn't happen. Her first year was lived out in much the chaos you're seeing today so I do empathize. However, when it's all said and done, you'll be soo glad you took the lunge. Happy remodeling!!

  2. it will be wonderful when you are done, but i do so hate the chaos while painting. our house needs it inside and out but we are not up to doing it... just pulling the things out from the walls to the middle of the room and painting
has always made me crazy. can't wait to see when you are done.

  3. At least it's not winter where you might have to stay inside all day. :)

  6. Wow, you guys really dive right in. There is so much updating that needs to be done in our VT house, but Mike doesn't see any of it. Oh, well, we will probably sell it and let new owners fix it to their taste. I hope Mike realizes that will lower the selling price.
I have to say I envy the fact that you are making progress, but the chaos part, I can definitely do without myself.

  7. Our back bedroom always looks that way and we're not remodeling! I have to clean it out this week so the grands have somewhere to sleep while they are visiting us. Everything that doesn't have a permanent home finds its way to the spare bedroom because the only time we use that space is when the grands come to stay. It's exciting that you are making so much progress on the house.

  10. I love the new trim! Perfect. And I've lived in chaos like that from time to time also. No fun, but there IS light at the end of the tunnel. You just have to hope it's not an oncoming train. lol
