That's what my father-in-law would say about me when I won a hand in a card game!!!
Last week a group of us gals decided we'd take a drive to Bullhead City CA, and Laughlin NV.
Bullhead city was the destination for Sam's and a few other retail stores that are not in Lake Havasu.
After shopping we found ourselves at the Avi Casino' which is about 12 miles from the rest of the casinos in Laughlin.
If you are a member of their players club, you can get a great breakfast for $.99 cents.
Ham, eggs, hash browns, toast...and its good!!!
The joke is we drive 70 miles for a $.99 cent breakfast.
We had lots of laughs all the while we were riding, and shopping!! The joke of the day was: "do we tip our traditional 15-20% which would amount to a few cents; or do we at least let a dollar.
That would make the tip more than the cost of breakfast.
Anyway, we were generous to our server.
After breakfast, the slot machines were our next destination.
I decided I would spend $20.
Now, you all have to realize I do not go to casinos very often. I don't understand how slot machines work.
All those betting lines, and zig-zag arrows, I don't get it.
I looked around for an easy machine, with just three spinning wheels and one line across.
After a little bit of searching I found one.
And a nickel machine at that.
After a few tries, I found the spot to put my twenty in. It didn't register quite right!! It only registered a few coins.
Oh well I thought, it should work itself out.
So I pulled the lever and it registered 6 or 8 coins, the next pull it registered 14 coins, on the third pull it registered 22 coins.
Thinking to myself, "I don't really don't know what I'm doing, maybe I should cash out.
It spit out big silver dollar kind of disks.
I thought I must have won $22, which would make me $2.00 ahead. I found the change booth, asked for two $10's and the rest in ones.
She looked at me kind of funny and asked, "you want two $10's and 90 dollars in one's?"
OMG I won $110.!!!!
The machine I thought was a nickel machine was a $5.00 machine. Well I took my winnings and marched right out of that casino!!!
I'm sure I will be able to find a nice piece of 'bling' to purchase at one of the swap meets.
Like my father-in-law said............"more luck than sense"!!!
And that's the way it is................
oh my gosh, you had me laughing! a nickel machine that was really $5!!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteOh how funny! Have fun spending that $$
ReplyDeleteI don't know about that. I think you showed a lot of sense leaving while you were way ahead :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your "big" win!
I read this, started laughing, read it again to my husband and he started laughing. Don't fee bad,I don't know much about slot machines either and if that would have happened to me I would have done exactly what you did. Walk right out of that cassino!!!! Glad you and your friends had such a good time. :)
ReplyDeleteSmart Lady..I went to a casino twice in my life and won $120.00 but I couldn't leave and ended up dumping it all back in..It was O K though since I was lucky and didn't really cost me anything out of my pocket..IF I ever go again and win again..I will walk and if someone else is driving and isn't ready to leave...that's o k..I will sit (on my money) and wait :)
ReplyDeleteHow fun and funny...We usually drive by real slow, turn the window down, throw a 20 and leave....saves me a bundle.
ReplyDeleteHappy for you tho and I would have taken the money and run too.
Blessings
You are a big gambler now playing the 5$ Machines..at least you were lucky and won something! Sounds like you had a fun day! :)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like something I would do--I'm not much of a gambler either! Congratulations on your win!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh , it is so something I would do.......
ReplyDeleteVery funny story. I am sure your grandpa was watching over you and had a good chuckle as well.
ReplyDeletethe title is the perfect title... wow... love the fun with breakfast and its cost and tip.... fun with friends, nothing better, except of course winning 110.
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm glad you have good luck, if not good sense! How much fun is that kind of "oh, silly me" surprise???
ReplyDeletehaha....you are TOO funny muff!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have beginners luck, now go and buy a lottery ticket, way to go!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd of course we would love to have you join in our No Winter Whining....who cares if you have snow, or not.
Jen
I love "found money"....have fun with it...!!
ReplyDeleteHurray for Muffy! That's the kind of surprises we need!
ReplyDeletePeace,
Muff
Great story! I don't understand the video slots at all...and I like to pull a handle, not just push a button. I'm not a big gambler. I once won $20.00 on a nickle machine and immediately cashed in and counted myself a big winner.
