Missing

Last night when we came back from our friends condo, I put on my pj's, then sat down at the computer to start reading some blogs.  That's when I noticed one of my diamonds was missing.
  You know that sinking feeling.............
I looked through the bedroom, and closet where I hung my clothes.
 Nothing.
I then called my friend, she said she would look around her condo too.
I told her I was going to go back on the walkway from her place to ours.
She asked if I had used a flashlight to look for it.  No!
In my panic I never thought of the diamond catching the light of a flashlight!
So, I rechecked the bedroom and closet, and had remembered I was also in the bathroom.
When I shined the flashlight on the bathroom floor, there was my diamond, gleaming back at me.
Oh such relief.
I now have the ring and stone safely stowed away.  I am going to wait until we get back home to have it repaired.

A ring with a missing stone has always reminded me of a missing tooth!!!  I guess the black hole, kind of looks like rotting teeth.

Do you see the resemblance?  Or is it just me?

And that's the way it is.........................

  1. Oh my gosh I am so glad that you found it...and you are fortunate that it was nearby..imagine if you had gone to a store or something.

A friend of mine once potted up her diamond in some cuttings she was doing...guess someone got a million dollar plant.

  2. What a perfect story!! I never would have thought to use a flashlight and as attentative as I am, I may not have noticed that it was missing for days. The last photo though is the clincher. We get your point! lol Soo glad you found it!

  5. I just had all my prongs replaced. Spendy but not nearly as spendy as if I had lost any of them. so happy you found it.That would have made me sick to. I like your example .... a lost diamond is like a lost tooth :)

  6. Oh that is great you found it. When we were married my husband gave me a diamond necklace, and one day when some friends of ours were over I reached up and it was gone. I nearly had a heart attack. We looked and looked and a lady found it in the crack where the porch and sidewalk meet. What luck and what relief I felt. I know you felt the same way.

  9. Smart idea. After all, a flashlight works for those CSI folks. Good idea and phew, how relieved you must be. I'll remember that trick if I lose anything shiny. Thanks.

  12. Wow! That happened to me, too. The flashlight didn't help us, because it was upside down (it doesn't "glisten" much that way), half buried in a throw rug in the kitchen. I found it only because I thought it was a pebble and bent to throw it out!

    Glad you found it!

  13. so glad you found it... and these days it cost as much to replace that tooth as it would to replace your diamond, maybe more... your ring is beautiful.

  14. Lovely ring..so glad you found it. I lost one of my diamonds..found it..had the ring re pronged and put it away in the safe. I wear a nice ring in it's place..it works for me..but then I am not much of a ring person. Way to go with the flash light! I have heard of people using a screen over a vacume:)

  16. Lucky girl! I have the same ring as you, only my stones are more round. I, too, lost a diamond over twenty years ago --the one in my engagement ring. I never found it, and I always mourned its loss.
    Peace,
