I need your help. Not only am I full from the wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner, my picture file on this blog is full. When I went to post a photo, wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving yesterday, a pop up message informed me I needed to pay $2.99 a month to post photos. Do you all pay to blog? Has this ever happened to you? I will pay it if need to because I love to blog. Thanks!!!!

I had to start paying over a year ago, nothing is free in this world. i don't know anyway around it, but hope someone will for you. i was going to change to wordpress, but it is free only until full also.

ReplyDeleteif you ran out of room a year ago and bought more storage then, it would cost you $5/year (like judy and emma said above). however, if you run out of room now and purchase more space, it costs $2+/mo. now as google has raised their rates for anyone who doesn't have a 'grandfathered' plan.
ReplyDeleteif you do not purchase more space, you can delete old posts/photos from your blog to free up space to continue posting.
This is the first I'm hearing this! I'll go back and delete photos rather than pay!!

ReplyDeletei love sharing my pictures with everyone and alway recieve such positive feedback from all my followers/friends. i am getting ready to print some of my blog again, they are offering a 20% off special. i printed once before and absolutely love having a printed version of my blog!!
I erased some of my earlier blog entries and their photos but not before I copied the info and put them in a file on my computer (cut and paste). I reduced the size of my images. Sometimes I use Flicker.
ReplyDeleteI have been paying $5 dollars a year for at least three years now..so as long as I keep my info current so they can charge my card every year I can keep it at 5 dollars a year. IF you didn't have a plan before then once you are full..you either need to pay the monthly fee or start a new blog. Some people have done that..and just left a link at their old blog.

a few months ago I deleted almost all of my photos from Picasa...need to do it again...as I'm only keeping about 3 posts available to view. apparently, from what you all are saying, I won't have to pay as long as I continue to do this. so sorry you're having a problem...I have an English acquaintance who's in the same situation...hope it can be worked out

I hit the limit 3-4 years ago. First I deleted some old photos, then I found myself wishing I hadn't done so. At the time, I paid a flat fee for x-amount of storage, several times what I'd already used up. I figure if I use that up, it's time to start a new blog. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteI have a reserve blog that has only one entry, so I'd use that, I guess. I haven't had any message either, and do not wish to get one. If so, I guess it's time to clean house. Dang, I hate to clean house.

I have not had this message yet, but went into my old blogs yesterday and deleted all the pictures that were not my own personal photos. The only charges I have heard much about is the fact that several people have been sued quite a bit of money when posting a blog from the internet. I have stopped using a picture unless it is one I have taken. Hope you resolve this soon.........

ReplyDeleteI got the same message.... deleted photos in Picasa, did no good, so just paid $2.49 is what they wanted, a month. In the whole scope of life, figured it was not much at all :) but would rather pay by the year than have that piddly charge on my debit every month....
