A Wonderful Summer Treat

During the grands visit this past month, I found a wonderful recipe for Home Made Ice Cream:
2 cups whipping cream
1 -14oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

OK, so I needed to jazz it up a little.
This batch, became mint ice cream!!
First, pour the sweetened condensed milk into the mixing bowl and refrigerate.
When its nice and cooled down, add 2 cups whipping cream
Begin whipping up these two ingredients, then you can add, either the vanilla, or as I did added 1/2 teaspoon of Peppermint extract.  If you like it more minty add more but go slow as it is powerful.  Of course, to be mint ice cream it has to be green.  I added the green food coloring, just a few
 drops at a time.

Then beat it until the mixture forms peaks.

I couldn't let well enough alone, I just had to add a few mint chips!!
The last step is to put the ice cream in a container, cover and freeze, for 8 hours.

This is very rich, and just a small serving is plenty.  Oh, but its so creamy~~~ maybe a couple of small servings!!!

  11. Oh my gosh! How neat!

But I'm a spoil-sport around here. I won't make anything like that, for us. :-)))

Oh and guess what????? I changed my blog and now some people have to move-the-screen-over, to read all of it. And I have to do that, HERE! So, I'm not the only one in Pretty Blog Land. Thank you!!!

I did it, to accommodate really big looking pics, right in my posts. I know we can click on posted pics, and make them enlarge, but they do that, on a SEPARATE screen.

Anyway, I just had to tell you. -grin- Did you do something different, in the Width Settings perhaps?

  13. I remember when the kids were little, I made ice cream in an ice cream maker, and it was yummy. This sounds a gazillion times easier, and I'm definitely making some! Thanks again!!

  15. I am making this! I have an ice cream maker but it's way too much trouble for the small amount we can eat (notice I didn't say we WANT to eat)!!! I love Chocolate Mint flavor, my favorite! Thanks for sharing...
