Living Room - check

Since we have been retired, our living room has been transforming

We started out with forest green carpeting, last fall we replaced it with laminate flooring, and that was a big improvement.

We still had our cabin furniture, carrying an 'up north' theme.  We then had the opportunity to rent out our house in town to our niece, beginning mid January.  We moved the cottage furniture out in the garage, and brought our 'town' furniture to the cottage.

Then we left for Arizona.  Since we have been back we painted the living room and kitchen.  The wall with the peak is terracotta, side wall is light tan. We changed out all the woodwork to white.

I love the 'sunshine' yellow that we painted the kitchen.  That's it for updates, this year.  Next year after Arizona, we are going to tackle the hallway and bathrooms.

It has been a busy spring.  Now to get out to the garage, and get ready for our rummage sale next weekend.

And that's the way it is.................................

  4. I like what you have done, that looks so inviting, and fresh. Amazing what a little work can to to transform a room.

PS, I like the truck the best too. It was just a fluke, we were both going down the same road at the same time, and I had my camera on my lap.

  5. Thank you for the decorating updates! I love to see how people are transforming a new living area. A new *all the time* living area, I mean.

It starts out, as it has been. And then, over time, and with planning, it becomes more what you really want "now." :-)

Love the new living room look. (4th pic down) Oh wow, that terracotta is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!

  12. Great transformations ! I especially like what you did with the living room. Had to chuckle when I read about the rummage sale - we've been busy the past couple of weeks digging out 'stuff' that had accompanied us during the last 2 moves but never made it out of boxes; we're doing the rummage sale (we call them garage sales) tomorrow - hopefully everything's priced to become someone else's treasure !

  13. All great improvements but I think the laminate trumps them all. I love that type of flooring ever since I saw what was hiding under my carpet once during a removal.
