This Week

After being home bound basically for five weeks, I became a little 'stir crazy.'   I haven't seen my Minnesota grands since August.  Halloween seemed to be a perfect holiday to go visit them.  The five hour drive went quite well.  We arrived at our son's home in time to see the girls come home from school!!   They were anxious to see their granny!!!

As soon as the backpacks were on the table they began getting dressed for trick-or-treat.

Grand #5 was Pebbles, a cave girl.  She and her mom made her costume.

Grand #4 had a 'store bought' costume.  I'm not sure who she was, but I know the color purple influenced her choice of costumes.

It was a l-o-n-g time, from when they were dressed until their other cousins arrived, to all go out together.

All four of them finally convinced their parents to go NOW!!!

And.....they were off!!!

I'm getting stronger by the day,  but still unable to walk the neighborhood with them; so I stayed back to hand out treats at our son's house.

Finally all our little Trick-or-Treaters arrived back home, and as all children do,  dumped out all their candy on the floor to count and categorize.

I did manage to score a couple of Snicker's bars!!!

Life is good!!!

And that's the way it is..........................

  6. Halloween, Trick or Treaters, Costumes, something of our past. I used to love this but haven't had Trick or Treaters out here in the country since our kids flew the coop. We do still carve pumpkins tho, with the Grandloves.
Your Apple Crisp looks so good. I like the cooked filling, will have to try this one. I even have Wolf River Apples. Aren't they huge??? mercy!!!

  12. Hi, So happy for you that you are doing so well! I guess I was one of the unlucky patients. But after 31/2 months I can say that I am thinking of having the other knee replaced. Crazy right! I just need to come out of this slump I am in. Your grand children are so adorable. It was so wonderful you got to spend time with them. God Bless, Anna
