Traveling

Last night we were in Kansas City, on our way to Lake Havasu City, AZ.
We drove Interstate 35 to Interstate 40.
What a boring day.  Not much to look at.
You know I'm Dutch and have a fascination with windmills.
While zooming through Texas we saw two kinds of windmills:

These shots going at 78 mph are kind of tough.
Tomorrow we will get beyond Flagstaff AZ.  We're getting excited to get to our condo!!

And that's the way it is........

  2. Well, never knew you were Dutch, but nice to 'meet' a fellow Nederlander (can you speak/read/write it ?). Yes, windmills have a special place in our hearts - our son & daughter-in-law gave us a windmill painting - done on an old window in a frame.

Hope you had a great Christmas. Safe travels and Happy New Year (or gelukkig Nieuw Jaar).

  4. Th first type of windmill is an Outback icon here in Australia. They are seen everywhere and used to pump water from our huge underground artesian basin in places where there is no electricity. They're made by a company bearing the iconic name of Southern Cross.
    Safe travels.

  7. Uneventful, boring car trips are preferable to the kind of excitement a lot of traffic can sometimes provide. We made our three day trip last weekend and are enjoying the sunshine--especially knowing that there is now 18 inches of snow in our driveway at home. Safe journey!

  11. We have several of those wind turbines in Indiana now. They are fascinating to watch. We are getting more snow tonight.
Happy New Year to you and your family.
