Pins and Needles

My goal this week is to finish up all the sewing projects I have started.  Last April I made one granddaughter a nightie!!  And she convinced me to make one just like it for her doll.

I like to make all three of the little granddaughters summer nighties.  Today I finished up the other two.

They will get them when they come to granny's two weekends from now.

The grand pictured above, felt so bad when she realized she outgrew her favorite sundress from last summer.    She asked me if I could make one like it; and of course granny couldn't  say no!!!  Together we picked out the material, and she decided what fabric she wanted where.  Tomorrow she will get her new sundress, and the pink hat  I found at the Dollar Store.

What she doesn't know is I made her doll a  new sundress similar to hers!!

Tomorrow and Saturday, I intend to finish up three pair of shorts and matching tops for my little ladies.  Then I think I can put my machine away for a while.

And that's the way it is........................................

  1. Your granddaughter is so sweet and both the gown and the sundress are precious. I know she will be thrilled that her dolly has a matching dress. I know you enjoy their visits so much!

  8. Oh gracious!!!!! Do your "Grands" realize how LUCKY they are???? Well, someone should tell them.

To have a Nana, who is so talented. Making special nighties for them. And a new sundress, "to order." And even making matching things, for a dolly.

    HOW LUCKY they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. My Grandmother used to sew for us when she came to visit, and I still have some of the things she made me. There is something so precious in having someone make you something personal, and just for you...

  10. Lucky little grandies! My mother was a beautiful sewer -- creative and precise. Together (I designed, she sewed) there were countless outfits for my children (and me!!) I never inherited her ability to put fabric to machine, though I love needlework. These little outfits will always be remembered by these girls.
    Peace,

  11. My grand daughter has now passed that delightful age where she is totally into her American Girl dolls and dressing them (and herself) with grandma-made outfits. I wish that they did not grow up so fast!!!
