As you can see from two posts ago, we had a rummage sale Memorial Weekend.  We sold about 75% of the stuff.  Many of you asked to see an after picture:

Volunteers from the Senior Thrift Shop in town are coming this week to pick up the remains.  All they ask is we have it boxed up and ready to go.  The Thrift Shop donates its proceeds back into the community; donating to the food pantry, the volunteer fire departments through out the county, and many other community organizations.
We felt it was a good cause.     Finally, things are shaping up around here.  This week our goals are to paint the shutters, weed the flower beds, and take care of the two bags of potatoes we were given.  We live in potato country, and they are plentiful, and need attending before they sprout out.  I intend to peel and boil them all.  Some I will freeze as mashed potatoes, and the rest I will dice up before freezing for American Fries.

And that's the way it is.........................................

  1. Sounds like a successful sale and how nice that the unwanteds will do good in the community. Truly a win/win.

  2. You did quite well, I'd say. It's nice that there is a way to get rid of the rest in such a worthy manner.
American fries? Not a term I am familiar with. What we back east would call hash browns, maybe?

  3. Freezing up a batch or two of mashed potatoes. I've never thought of doing that.

  4. You did incredibly well in your sales...

That's a pretty good amount gone, and then to donate the rest is a great idea.

Although we didn't have a garage sale before we moved, we did make many trips to the thrift shop, and donated lots. It's all for a good cause anyways....
